A young teenager, really. Amazed to see it - first sturk since I don't know when.

Going through eight fat balls, one suet block and at least two fills of the seed tray every day. Mainly due to the Sturks and their families. Can be anything up to forty at a time.

You have my sympathy Peregrine. I do not have anywhere near 40 visiting my garden but those that do seem to be very hungry

This week I have noticed a big drop in adult bird visits. The Sturklets are still turning up(bless `em) but without mum or dad. You're on your own kids it's either sink or swim(or the birdy equivalent)

Dramatic drop in adult Sturkies here too. Have spent a lot of time in the garden over the last few weeks, so plenty of time to make notes. Adult Sturks are turning up as one in ten on average. They tend to stay high and go bonkurks when a predator is about.
Today, an adult turned up with a new Sturklet and had to fight off the older Sturklets to get the food to feed the new youngsturk. Did pretty good too. Didn't take any nonsurks from the teenagurks!!!!!
