Seen a woodpigeon and blackbird on the berries nuthatch. The other one on other side of bay window don't have so many berries this year. Probably because I have to keep pruning it to get by. But there was a blackbird inside it today eating berries. The ones that are there are lovely and red.

It has been a very mild Autumn. I still have two small Cowslips in flower. Congrats on the Hawkweed Placi.

Can anyone put a name to this very ugly fungus which has lately appeared under my Rowan tree

It first appears a black blob which then becomes the first picture and after a short while it morphs into the second picture. This is not a quiz though there is a prize for the correct answer. I have in the Chateau cellar a case of the 2010 vintage Heather Brew which is drinking well at the moment and is much coveted. The person who comes up with the correct answer will get half a dozen bottles delivered to their door in time for Christmas by Haggi Post(courtesy of Honest Placi Enterprises c/o the Wee glen) Any damage to your property by the Haggi will be your responsibility and the cost thereof falls outside the scope of this prize value.
