Robin chick now comes in 4 - 5 times a day. No sign yet of the breast changing.

Rexie as per this morning but also on the patio wall was another of the red-breasted persuasion - a no-tail
Perfectly at home, not a bit frit. Ate mealies whilst Rexie watched fondly.
Given his thuggish behaviour towards his sainted and put-upon father, Robbo, one is drawn to the possibility that the no-tail in question was Mrs. Rexie or a new paramour.
Maybe a close encounter with raptor or feline occasioned the lack of rear plumage, or perhaps more likely a punch-up outside The Robin 'n' Sawdust on Ladettes' Nite.

My adult Robin has been very shy and retiring since his arrival. The breeding season saw a thawing of relations between him and myself as he realised I was supplying food but I assumed as soon as the desperate need to feed his family was past he would return to normal. But contrary to my expectations there is a trust slowly building and he has started to monitor my work in the garden and now permits me to stand quite close.

Great pic, Peregrine  :photo:

You could have a mate for the rest of his life there, Jacksparrow. Once the line has been crossed they never seem to forget. Even when he (they're always male who come close) disappears to moult he'll come back when winter strikes and be as pally as he is now. Wonderful birds, robins .........
