Out last day of hols today (and the best

) and we were lazing under the shade of the tree when I heard a bird making a racket. It was a lady blackbird shouting at something. Then I noticed what that something was. It was a stoat (or weasle). It was about 30 feet from me, near the building, then ran off down the slope and into the reeds around the pond. We also saw it the other side of the pond, it ran towards the trees, then half way there, turned back.
The dogs didn't notice it, but when they went for a wander they could sniff it.
The sister-in-law (whose house we were at) had never seen one there before.
I'm assuming it was a stoat as it was squirrel size and bounded.
