The feisty Avocet

Avocets are known for being very feisty and protective of their young.
They are happy to tackle the diminutive but dangerous Redshank

Nice action Bob, great to see the young. I have yet to see an avocet this year :(

What general area are you in - they seem to be breeding further north every year.

I am in Bedfordshire Bob, I would typically see them on the Norfolk or Suffolk costal reserves. I feel a trip is required...
