FOXES

Best thing about a snowy garden is that you can tell who's been in your garden during the night . Twice there were fox tracks, which was good.
Today though the butyl liner of the pond had been flipped back (a load of moss 'n' grass with it) and some excavation of the earth had taken place.
I s'pose a very hungry fox had been to the trouble because that's never happened previously.

Must explain that that particular piece of liner isn't covered by a great big boulder. I purposely had a gentle incline built there so little birds (and whatever) can find easy in and out.
I glued :rolleyes:pebbles thereupon to suggest a sort of pebbly beach so the butyl must have been quite heavy right there.
But a hungry fox will win !!

It seems my fox visit was more than a one-off. The trailcam revealed another visit at about 1 am this morning. It only stopped long enough to eat some of the dried food I'd put out for the Hogs

But thats good Jack , you are lucky . My fox visit, on the other hand, seem to be a one-off . I still hope ...

My fox continues to visit on an ad hoc basis . It is usually about 3.30 AM. Today it stayed for about 8 minutes and helped itself to some more of the Hog food.

My trailcam picked up a fully grown Fox at about 2.30 am giving my hog food a good sniffing . I don't think it ate much unlike my cat visitors

I stayed up until really late last night, and when I was on my way to bed I looked outside the window and saw 3 foxes (I'm guessing cubs) running around and chasing each other on the grass area outside my garden . So lovely to see, I didn't realise I have foxes in the neighbourhood

Foxes do a good job avoiding our attention. I didn't realise there was one visiting my garden until the trailcam picked it up..

That`s good butterfly. Not seen any here. But with the hedgehogs, may be just as well.
