Goldcrest

Post by greg » Mon Dec 14, 2015 12:38 pm

The Goldcrest turned up today. We usually see it when we have a cold snap so it was a bit of a surprise. It always appears in the silver/blue conifer by the kitchen. I think it hunts for spiders and their eggs.

That is a beautiful picture, Greg - could be on a Christmas card.
Wonder whether it's a bad weather harbinger ??!! What were you saying about a White Christmas :snow:

Lovely Greg. Wonderful photo. Have had them a couple of times, but like you said just in winter.

I've had a Goldcrest visiting the pond in the hot weather. It's a lovely little bird.

It's interesting how its crest appears orange in some lights/angles and yellow in others.
