I find myself presently relaxing in my suspended basket chair upon the balcony, taking most pleasurable advantage of the invigorating breeze and the genial warmth of the sun, accompanied, of course, by a most agreeable cup of tea.

Quite without warning, the serene atmosphere was enlivened by the distinct and melodious peep-peep of a chiffchaff, which, to my considerable delight, had stationed itself but an arm’s breadth away upon a slender bamboo rod discreetly placed amidst my strawberry plants along the railing.

Alas, I have long aspired to capture a commendable photo of this little bird, yet my endeavours were thwarted, as I was unable to engage my SmartPhone's camera out of the reading mode with sufficient haste.

Be that as it may, I derive no small pleasure in observing that these delightful birds frequently consort with the Great Tits and Blue Tits, who in turn make their abode within the luxuriant cherry laurel bushes situated just around the corner from my dwelling.

A relaxing basket chair, nice warm breeze and a a cup of tea sounds absolutely perfect for listening to the birds and having a Chiffchaff at arms length to delight the senses - nothing better than nature on your doorstep to brighten any day; thanks for sharing this lovely post and hope the Chiffy returns and your smartphone camera is ready to capture it.

Regrettably, I possess at present only my SmartPhone and no camera; thus, I was only able to secure four very poor images, taken through my then spotted glass balcony door.
It was quite extraordinary that today dear “Chiffy” approached with such evident trust. I have, of late, been afflicted with certain ailments of the upper respiratory passages, and I found myself greatly restored in spirits and in health by the singular enchantment of “Chiffy’s” most welcome visit.
