Greenfinch

Post by SnappyMac » Tue May 27, 2025 1:59 pm

Greenfinch (Chloris chloris) - Hopefully nesting nearby. For the first time we have had a pair using the feeder all year, previously we have only seen the odd one a few times.

Photo taken in the garden.

Greenfinch (Chloris chloris) - The greenfinch are very skittish, but I managed to grab my camera when I saw this one on top of the feeder. I took this photo through the window with totally the wrong settings, fortunately the light was on the greenfinch so I enhanced the effect in processing. Wasn't quite what I was going for!!

I am hoping the nesting material being collected is a sign of things to come :)
