BLACKBIRDS
Re: BLACKBIRDS
2 blackbirds bathing again early today: 1 was fully fledged apart from a spiky haircut and the other looked like the youngster of yesterday.

Re: BLACKBIRDS
I went out into the garden at dusk tonight to top up the feeders and I could hear splashing coming from the direction of the ponds. After staring into the gloom I could just about make out my solitary(at the moment) Blackie having a quick dip before bedtime. Brrrrrrr

After a two month absence my brave Blackbird has returned. He almost landed on the bird table today as I was putting on the sultanas. It may take a little while before the former intimacy returns.

I saw blackbirds for the first time properly in a good while today.
I'd heard them a few times recently, but I had about 3 in the garden today.
I wonder where they've been hiding out.

I've got a blackbird friend - he's been there every morning for more than three weeks. Sometimes he's waiting on the hedge in the darkness and then comes down and other times he's already near the ground table.
He's never bothered by my presence - I keep wondering if there's anything wrong with him but I can't see anything .... he could be the one I took a couple of pics of when he was a fledging

Re: BLACKBIRDS
It has been my experience that Blackbirds are getting less cautious in the garden. I presently have three that are happy to come quite close and one that will come to the bird table while I am putting food on it. My main concern is that they will get to thinking everyone is as bird friendly as myself and get into danger.
