Last night OH, who'd had instructions to put the egg yolks out saw a creature in the garden, that he described as looking like a mink

He said it was pale, furry like a cat, had a big white tail, small head and moved like a squirrel and wasn't even bothered when he shone a torch on it (no pics )

It was going to some of the ground feeders in the bird garden then darted round to the back garden like the fox does and exited through the hedge.

I'll be on the lookout tonight.

Edit 15.35: Looking at pics online he reckons that it was more like a weasel or stoat but the coat looked longer than in most of the photos - it was completely white.

I am a tad confused with your description Nutty. You say at one stage the animal had a big white tail and I immediately thought Stoat. Then in the edit you say it was completely white My final thought was an escaped Ferret

Yes, Jacksparrow - we thought that it must have 'belonged' to someone - whatever it was ....

We saw quite a few white stoats on the Google page although many did have a black tip to the tail.

Here's one:

Stoats are only white in the depth of winter usually though it is possible you have an albino which would be white at any time of year.

When stoats have a black tail tip they're "ermine", innit ??

S'right, Cap'n - Disgusted is certainly the denizen of Tunbridge Wells and has been for some many decades. I do believe his best friend is The Man On The Clapham Omnibus.
