Little one was there again last night when I took doggy for walk. Put down some food for it and then went back again later.

The little one has got the habit now, Willpar. It'll go from strength to strength from now on. What a lucky hedgie.
Hope the other 2 come back .......

The jury is out for this video. To me it looks like it could be a juvenile. If not, don't have a dulux on it so not one of my regulars. Hard to tell with these small lens camera traps. have a look. Oh and did not see the little one over the way last night.

I think you're right, Willpar - it's a new juvenile. Could it be one of your new little mates at the hedge maybe ??

Hi Placi, I was thinking that. When I first seen the 3 over the way, one was smaller and that I think is the little un. There is no reason why the larger ones cant farther their range in search of food. and my garden is not that far away.

There was another video which I never saved of it or another, sniffing by the dome and going into it. But was not a good video. All the food was ate in the dome though. May have more videos to come if it or them decide to call again.

I cleared all the nesting material out of the feeder that a juvenile used last year. Will return it back to a feeder in the very near future. It is a bit smelly at the moment because I sprayed it. If a hedgie builds in it again for winter then that will be ok.

Nice videos JooMoo and Wilpar :hedgehog:

What did you spray the nesting material with, Willpar?

Turned out to be a right garden nightwatch on Sunday - I was watching the goings-on for 3 3/4 hours

I saw two hedgies - both large - by the sundial going round and round each other very much as in JooMoo's video.

After 50 minutes of going back and for to the window I thought, "I've started so I'll finish" and went and got a stool like I do with the Garden Birdwatch.

The one hedgie was on his tall legs, sort of thing, and moved about with that side to side movement and I could see the skirt more readily - I'm presuming this was the male.

I could hear another hedgie at the peanuts under the window and when it trundled in the direction of the other two, one of them soon saw it off.

The black and white cat appeared, sniffed the egg yolk dish, clocked the hedgies, jumped onto the small bird bath, had a drink then sat there on the edge of the bird bath for a few moments before disappearing through the hedge :cat:

After two hours the hedgies moved about 2 1/2 feet to the other side of the sundial nearer the border and carried on just moving around as in JooMoo's video.

A fox slunk by, grabbed the fat block and was gone in an instant :fox:

One of the hedgies did move about 18 inches from the other twice, then went back and also went to the ground feeder, crawled under it and out the other side - twice and also sniffed and licked the egg yolk dish once.

There are two patches of grass sort of worn a different colour where they had been.

Saw a medium sized hedgie on Tuesday night bumbling around the big bird bath :hedgehog:

You had a nice busy night nuthatch well done. Did the egg yolk get ate at all. the fox likes its fat block. I just sprayed the feeder nuthatch after I took out the nest. Just a very quick squirt of fly spray. Think it will be ok.

Had a busier night hedgehog wise last night. Whether it is the cold night that has anything to do with it. But I suspect it could get more busier as the weeks progress. I have combined 4 videos from last night.

1st juvenile on large plot.
2nd on the small plot.
3rd looks like a new visitor.
4th, to me a bit larger juvenile.

Good videos Willpar. What do you think they find to eat in the long grass?
