Re: Birds in the Peak District

Not sure if you have been to the village of Eyam close by in the Peaks. I think that's the furthest north the plague went in 1665. All still with the old houses with plaques on the walls telling who died there. The Riley graves where the whole family died. The stones with holes drilled in that were ...

They are great to watch although quite nippy in general. Speaki...

A stonechat and wren up in the Peaks this morning. I was hoping for mountain hares but they evaded me. Still, it was fun trying to guess which hole in the dry stone wall the wren would pop out of next... kept me on my toes for a photograph or three for a good while. https://www.flickr.com/photos/203...

Horses and donkeys.

I do spend a lot of my time amid horses, cobs and donkeys whilst trying to photograph other animals. 10 years ago I was apprehensive but now totally happy to be right in there with them. TBH had some of my best times with local Irish cobs, they are so mischievous. A donkey today. In the field to pro...

Re: Birds in the Peak District

How about the video half way down this page: https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/wildlife-explorer/birds/thrushes-chats-flycatchers-starling-dipper-and-wren/stonechat Ta. I think it just looks a...

One taken up there yesterday, not quite sure of the ID although I probably should know.
Lovely photo Bob, perhaps it is a Juvenile Stone.
